The City of Miami Beach's department of
Tourism and Cultural Development's (TCD)
mission is to enrich the economic and
cultural fabric of Miami Beach through the
support of tourism, production, and
entertainment by fostering events and
cultural arts programming. In this occasion
is proud to announce “OPERA IN THE PARK,” an
extraordinary event presented by Miami Lyric
Opera (MLO) on Sunday March 2nd 6 PM at
Flamingo Park located in South Beach. The
entrance is free.
The Barber of Seville (Il Barbiere di
Siviglia) the most acclaimed opera buffa
(Comedy) by Gioacchino Rossini the genial
Italian composer of the 19th Century, is an
opera not to be missed by anyone for its
music, bellcanto and great sense of comedy.
Figaro de Barber elaborates a plot for the
marriage of Count Almaviva and the beautiful
Rosina protected and secretly loved by a
rich and old in age Doctor Bartolo…..The
story evolves beautifully to a happy end
masterminded by Figaro the barber and….more.
This special production will be performed by
Nelson Martinez as Figaro and a fine group
of artists, choruses and orchestra conducted
by Maestro Enrique Castro in the orchestra
and Pablo Hernandez as Chorus-master.
