2007 has been an exiting year for Miami Lyric Opera (MLO) by presenting
eleven events among operas and concerts. That is 60% more events than
the previous year mostly sold out. On petition of the City of Miami
Beach Cultural Affair, we have produced and performed for the first time
an opera at open air in one of Miami Beach’s Parks with a great success
of public who enjoyed a suggestive Puccini’s La Boheme under the stars
in what can be called a magic evening.

these past years including the public, press, media, artists, musicians,
directors, member of the Board, stage workers and all of those who have
made possible our work.
We need you and we are working for you for better productions to offer.
The 2008 Season looks very interesting, we will present new titles such
as Lucia, Butterfly and I Puritani and repeat renewed past productions
such as La Traviata among other as you will appreciate in our year
calendar. New singers will join the existing cast members, consolidated
chorus and orchestra will support our productions together with
improvement in the scenery design.
For better convenience of our public, we will repeat the same title more
than once and eventually increase the number of performances soon as we
are given the new venue in the South part of Miami in addition to The
Colony Theater of Miami Beach. Established and emerging artists are
being recruiting to offer the best available voices in South Florida and
from elsewhere.
This young Opera Company, founded and directed by the prestigious
Italian tenor Raffaele Cardone, began its activity on October 30, 2004;
since then, it has successfully presented more than 20 operas and
Concerts in the area of Miami Dade. MLO is committed to offering an
accessible operatic alternative in Miami and to creating opportunities
for new talent to perform and acquire experience alongside known
artists. Among it objectives MLO is to create a Scholarship Program to
help young qualified singers to study in Europe or at fine music schools
in the US.
There is no doubt that MLO’s objectives - to bring the magical and
marvelous world of the opera to Miami audiences and to promote new
artists requires the support of all opera lovers and the public in
general, as its director Raffaele Cardone has stated. Becoming a member
of MLO is a practical way to help in exchange of the many benefits that
a member receives. Remember we need your help to continue in this
magnificent venture. |
